This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the SaaguMitra mobile application (available on Google Play and the Apple App Store) and our website (collectively, the "Platform").

SaaguMitra is an agricultural technology platform designed to connect farmers directly with agricultural laborers. By downloading, accessing, or using our Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide our services effectively, we collect personal and sensitive information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Platform.

• Personal & Contact Information: Your name, phone number, and physical address/location (village, mandal, district). Your phone number is used for OTP-based authentication and communication.
• Profile Data: Skills, availability, work history, crop details, and agricultural requirements.
• Location Data (Sensitive Data): We collect precise and approximate location data (GPS) to facilitate connections between farmers and nearby laborers. Location data is only collected while the app is in use or with your explicit background permission to match you with local jobs.
• Device Permissions (Camera & Storage): With your permission, we may access your device's camera and photo library to allow you to upload a profile picture or photos of your agricultural work/requirements.
• Device Information: We automatically collect device information such as your IP address, operating system, unique device identifiers (IMEI/MAC), and app crash data (via Firebase Crashlytics) to improve app stability and security.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal and sensitive information collected via our Platform for the following business purposes:

• To Facilitate Connections: To match farmers with the most relevant and geographically closest agricultural laborers.
• Account Management: To create, authenticate, and manage your user account.
• Communication: To send administrative information, updates, push notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), and facilitate in-app or direct calling between matched users.
• Platform Improvement: To analyze usage trends, troubleshoot crashes, and improve the user experience.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share your data in the following situations:

• With Other Users: By using our Platform to find work or hire workers, you consent to sharing your public profile (Name, Location, Skills, Rating) and Contact Number with other registered users (farmers or laborers) to facilitate the hiring connection.
• With Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party service providers (like Google Firebase for database hosting, authentication, and crash reporting) who perform services on our behalf and are bound by strict data protection obligations.
• For Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if legally required to do so to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, or a judicial proceeding.

5. Data Retention and Deletion Policy

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

How to Delete Your Account and Data:

You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data.

• In-App Deletion: You can delete your account at any time directly within the SaaguMitra app by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account.
• Email Request: Alternatively, you can request data deletion by emailing us at privacy@saagumitra.com with your registered phone number. We will process your deletion request within 14 days.

Upon deletion, all your personal data, profile information, and location history will be permanently erased from our active databases, except where retention is required by law.

6. Data Security

We prioritize the security of your data. All data is transmitted securely over HTTPS and stored in secure cloud environments (Google Firebase) with restricted access. While we have implemented robust technical and organizational security measures, no electronic transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and you use the Platform at your own risk.

7. Children's Privacy

The SaaguMitra Platform is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notifying you via an in-app alert. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
